This section only deals with WinTV cards so far, as that is all I have.
The drivers you use depend mainly on the type of card you have, either a BT8x8 based or a BT88x based one.
BT8x8 Based Cards
The Hauppauge drivers for the BT8x8 based cards don't provide a means to change channels etc from DirectShow,
so in order to get MTV to work on these cards you need some 3rd party drivers.
I would recommend Ivan Uskov's version of the Connexant drivers, found at http://www.iulabs.com/.
The drivers are free for non-commercial uses.
You will need to install the Hauppauge drivers first and then install these drivers over the top.
BT88x Based Cards
The Hauppauge drivers for the BT88x based cards do allow you to change channels etc from DirectShow.
These drivers are not fully completed, some stuff doesn't work, but you can have a running system on these drivers.

DirectX
Be sure to install the DirectX 8 runtime, otherwise nothing will work.
Screen Settings
The whole thing works best at 640x480 with 16bpp. I have played with 32bpp but things are horribly slow, so I
advise against it on the multitainer. The app currently sets itself to 640x480 by default, I will probably
make this configurable from the config files.
DMA Settings
Really important - remember to turn DMA access on for your hard drive. I did a complete system reinstall and
forgot to turn DMA back on, then I spent more time than I'd like to remember wondering why everything was
glitchy - DOH!
